Wild Hearth Births
Welcome to the nurturing world of Wild Hearth Birth Services, a heart-centered doula practice devoted to guiding families through the transformative seasons of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. At Wild Hearth Birth, Kayla offers compassionate, holistic doula care supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period. I work with clients planning both home and hospital births, honoring each family’s values while supporting emotional, physical, and mental well-being throughout the journey. Located in Bigfork, Montana, we serve families throughout the Flathead Valley and Polson, Montana.
My Philosophy
We all come to birth from somewhere. I believe that my support begins with you and your unique beliefs, desires, goals, fears, and needs.
Before Birth
We begin by getting to know you. Your story, your past experiences, and what you hope for in this birth.
Together, we create your birth preferences and fill in any gaps so you feel informed and grounded in your choices. We also gently explore any fears or uncertainties, making space for them to feel supported rather than overwhelming.
During Birth
Birth invites you into your body and your instincts. My role is to help you feel safe enough to trust both.
I offer steady, grounding support through touch, counter pressure, massage, and intuitive guidance, while encouraging movement that supports your body’s natural rhythm.
I hold space for the full range of your experience. Your voice remains at the center, and I support clear communication so you can make aligned decisions. If needed, I advocate alongside you while maintaining a collaborative relationship with your care team.
Partners are an important part of this work. I support them so they can show up with confidence and connection.
After Birth
Postpartum is a time to slow down, heal, and settle into your new rhythm.
We process your birth experience together and make sure you feel supported in your recovery. This may include connecting you with resources like pelvic floor care, lactation, or mental health support.
You are held in this transition.
What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula offers steady, nurturing support in the days and weeks after your baby arrives.
This care is centered on you. Your healing, your rest, and your transition into parenthood. I help create space for you to slow down and recover while you get to know your baby.
Support may look like newborn guidance, feeding support, or simply having a calm, experienced presence in your home. It can also mean holding space as you process your birth (I offer Birth Processing services for an additional fee) or navigate the emotional shifts that come with this season.
A postpartum doula is there to tend to the whole picture so you feel supported, resourced, and not alone as you find your rhythm.
What is a Birth Doula?
A birth doula is a trained professional who provides compassionate, continuous support to individuals throughout pregnancy and the childbirth experience. Rather than offering medical care, a doula focuses on emotional reassurance, physical comfort, and evidence-based guidance, helping expectant parents feel empowered and informed during their journey.
With a deep commitment to holistic well-being, doulas create a nurturing presence, honoring the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of birth. Their guidance can ease anxiety, foster confidence, and contribute to a more positive and supported birth experience.
What is a Parent Coach?
A parent coach is a supportive guide who helps caregivers navigate the complexities of raising children with greater confidence, clarity, and connection. Through compassionate and personalized coaching, they provide practical strategies to address parenting challenges, strengthen family relationships, and create a more peaceful home environment.
Every family is unique, and a parent coach tailors their approach to meet each caregiver’s specific needs. With empathy and evidence-based tools, a parent coach creates a judgment-free space where caregivers can gain new insights, build confidence, and foster deeper connections with their children.
